3 days of fun = 3 pounds on the buns!

Happy Birthday to Me, Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday Dear Me, Happy Birthday to Me! My birthday celebrations are finally over! I didn’t think I’d ever be ready to stop celebrating something, but I’m really ready to get back to normal life. I had planned on just celebrating Tuesday night for a birthday dinner, Wednesday at the wineries, and Thursday night for a new Wine Bar opening event we had purchased tickets to go to.
Well, my celebrations started Monday night with pizza and wine. Tuesday I was pretty good all day, but ordered 2 martinis with my birthday dinner of fresh white french bread dipped in oil, 2 crab cakes, and 2 large bacon wrapped scallops. Wednesday, I went to the wineries with my girlfriend, and to speak a cliche for a second, “I’m never drinking again!” I even canceled our Wine Bar reservations for tonight. Instead, we decided to take advantage of our babysitter situation and go to P.F. Changs. Did you know that my favorite chocolate cake of all time is at P.F. Chang’s? It’s called The Great Wall of Chocolate, with a whopping 2,240 calories per piece! I could have continued my celebration, but I didn’t. I was quite happy with my dark chocolate covered soy nuts after I got home.
So, as you saw in my title, I’m up 3 pounds. I was planning on going to the gym today, but I was still recovering from yesterday’s winery fun (roll eyes). I obviously went way off The Rule of Three Diet this week, but I’m not going to feel guilty about it. I think everyone should have whatever they want on their birthday. I think I was a little excessive in my half-week-long celebrations, but I’m back on track now. I remember once giving myself a birthday gift of not going to the gym that day. It lasted at least 6 months. As long as you recover from being off track, you’ll be able to stay on track and meet your goals.
