Why 3 Snacks and 3 Meals?
Eating small frequent meals will keep your metabolism going. When you don’t eat, your body goes into starvation mode, and it starts using up it’s fat AND muscle for fuel. Ideally, you should be eating every 2-3 hours, even if it means having a light snack right before bed. When you know that you get to eat again in just two hours, you suddenly don’t feel the need to stuff yourself at every meal. My day usually looks like this: Breakfast: 7amSnack: between 9:30 and 10:30amLunch: 12:00pmSnack: 3:00pmSnack: 5:00pm Dinner: 7:00pmSnack: (if really hungry, about 9:30)
Sometimes my morning starts off kind of crazy, and I only have time for a banana. If I’m going to work out in the morning, I’ll only eat a hard boiled egg, so my body will work harder at the gym. In those cases, I flip flop my meals and snacks for the day. It really doesn’t matter as long as you are puttin something healthy into your body every 2-3 hours!
